Moving to WordPress

As you can probably see, most of the images on my posts are unlinked. I have not been able to find a way to fix this problem so I am moving my blogs to WordPress. I have decided to maintain only one blog to make life easier for myself. The one blog will include posts about general scrapbooking, Cricut layouts, SMASH*ing, cake decorating, card making. etc.

Please come and join me on my ScrappyDIVA blog.

Copic colour swatches for Photoshop

I also have a Copic colour swatches file available. If you would like to receive this file, please go to my ScrappyDiva page on Facebook, like the page and message me telling me you would like to receive the Copic colour swatches file. If you are unable to message me on Facebook, you will need to friend me first.

Again, there is no charge. I just want to build the audience on my page.

In working with all of these colours, I found that some of the RGB codes for Copic colours were a bit off in my RGB Colours Guide. I am still working on updating the guide, but plan to publish the updated version soon. Keep an eye on my blog for more information on this. Note that if you are unable to send me a message, you will need to friend me first.

SU Colour Swatches for Photoshop

If you would like to receive a colour swatch file that you can load in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, go to my StampingDiva page on Facebook, like the page and message me telling me that you would like to receive the file. There is no charge at all -- I would just like to build the audience on my page. Note that if you are unable to send me a message, you will need to friend me first.

Post Card Swapping

A number of people in my SMASH*Aholics Anonymous Facebook group have started exchanging post cards and when someone asked me to swap with her, she inspired me to come up with something that can be used to turn anything into a post card. After all, we are creative, aren't we?

I designed a cutting file for use with the Silhouette Cameo or SD cutters. It cuts out two post cards at 4" x 6". You can either print it on card stock or a full page label sheet and then cut it out with your cutter. If you use card stock, you will need to run it through a Xyron label maker or apply adhesive manually. I prefer using a Xyron because you get edge-to-edge adhesive.

You can then attach the post card to a photo, magazine article, newspaper clipping or anything else you would like to use.

If you are doing the Project Life thing, you can use the post cards in the sheet protector sections. You can round the corners and/or score them in half to use in the 3 x 4 sections. You can attach tabs so the post card can be pulled out and read or you can leave the opposite side with the written side showing.

Below are some pictures that show how the post card cutting file can be used.

Remember to check "Show Reg Marks" in Silhouette Studio because this is a Print & Cut file
This is how it looks once it is printed

Remember to move the rollers to the 13" setting

The size of the file is 4" x 6" (standard photo size)
Run it through a Xyron for edge-to-edge adhesive or print on a full sheet label
Place the adhesive side down onto the reverse side of the image you want to use

I thought this image of lots of different styles of Washi tape would be fun
Once you apply the post card to the reverse side of your image, trim to fit the post card

The end result
You can round the corners if you want to use the post card in Project Life. You can score and fold the card to fit in a 3" x 4" section. To show that the card can be pulled out and read, attach a tab to the card.

Cameo panel

I decided to modify my file for customizing the control panel on my Cameo to include two little holes so that the power and pause lights show through.

Drummers Rock

I have been wanting to make a "drummers rock" sign out of vinyl for my bumper for the longest time. Well, I finally got it done and I was able to make some good looking drumsticks by tracing a JPG file with one stick, editing it so the lines were straight and everything looked right and then copying it and rotating it to have two sticks.

The text and sticks were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

The weather will have to get a bit better before I can put it on my car, but it will look very nice. My car is a white 2-door Honda Civic. I will post a picture once I put it on my car.

I will put the sticks on the left side of the text.

I just put it on my car! You can see where I wiped away the dirt. It's such a gorgeous day and all the snow is melting so I couldn't resist.

Valentine's Gift

I made this gift for my sister for Valentine's Day. I used a sketch to create a layout on canvas which she can then put into a 12 x 12 shadowbox type frame. The photo is of her and our mom on her wedding day.

I used the Crate Paper Pink Plum collection.

I placed a cake doily behind the photo
Prima flowers with Stickles

Prima bling
Heart-shaped button from my stash
The flowers were originally white and I used Frost and Crème de Rouge Glimmer Mist and Star Dust Stickles to match the colours of the layout. I prefer buying white or clear flowers and bling so I can use mists, sprays or markers to colour them for the project at hand.

I will be giving away a package of Prima "Say it in Pearls" in red and black -- just perfect for Valentine's Day!! Please leave me a comment and I will pick someone at random on Sunday night, February 12.

Prima Say it in Pearls

I hope you enjoyed my project and that it encourages you to think outside the box.
